ramayana story summary ramayan story in english

In the court of Ayodhyapati Maharaj Dasaratha, Guru Vashistha, Mantrigans and courtiers were seated on proper posture.

Ayodhyanaresh said to Guru Vashistha, "O Gurudev!  Life is fleeting and I am moving towards old age.

Rama, Bharata, Lakshmana and Shatrughna all the four princes are now adults too.

I wish to see the marriage of princes before abandoning this body.

Therefore, you are requested to search for eligible girls for these princes. "  As soon as the talk of Maharaj Dasaratha was completed, the gatekeeper informed the arrival of sage Vishwamitra.

King Dasaratha himself went to the door and prayed to Vishwamitra and respectfully brought him inside the court and gave him a proper hospitality by offering a seat near Guru Vashistha.  .

After asking Kushalakshme, King Dasaratha said to the sage Vishwamitra in a polite voice, “O Munishreshtha!  I was thankful for your vision and the holy dust at your feet blessed this court and the entire Ayodhyapuri.

Now please tell me the purpose of your visit.  I will consider myself extremely lucky by serving you in any way. "

Hearing the humble words of the king, Muni Vishwamitra said, “O Rajan!  You have said the words according to the dignity of your family.

The devotion to the kings of the Ikshvaku dynasty has always been towards cow, Brahmin and sages.  I have come to you with a special purpose, understand that I have come to ask for something.

If you promise to give me the desired thing, then I should present my demand to you.

In the event of not giving your word, I will return without asking anything. ”

Maharaj Dasaratha said, "O Brahmarshi!  Feel free to keep your demand.

The whole world knows that the word of the kings of Raghukul is their promise.

If you ask, I can cut my head and keep it at your feet. "  The sage Vishwamitra, convinced by his words, said, "Rajan!  I am performing a yagna in my ashram.

At the time of Purnahuti of this yajna two demons named Marich and Subahu come and throw the impure things like blood, meat etc. in the Yagya altar.

In this way, the yajna cannot be completed.  They have done this many times.  I cannot destroy them by cursing them with my sharpness, because anger is prohibited while performing the yajna.

I know that you are a benevolent follower, benevolent and prajavatsal king of sages.

I have come to ask for your eldest son Rama so that he can go with me to protect my yagna from the demons and my yagyuthasan can be completed uninterrupted.  I know that Rama can kill both of them with ease.

So give me only Rama for ten days.  As soon as the work is done, I will bring them back to you safely. "

King Dasaratha felt very sad after hearing Vishwamitra.  It seemed that now he would be unconscious.

Then he took care of himself and said, “Muniver!  Ram is still a child.  It will not be possible for him to face the demons.

I myself am ready to go to protect your sacrifice. "  Vishwamitra said, "Rajan!  Do not doubt that Rama cannot face them.

I have guessed their powers from my yoga force.  You can send Ram with me without any fear. "

To this, King Dasharatha replied, "O Munishreshtha!  Rama has not yet seen any demon-possessed Maya Prapancha and he does not even experience this type of war.

Ever since she was born, I have never let her disappear in front of my eyes.  My life will go out of his disconnection.

You are requested to kindly allow me to walk vigilantly. "

Sage Vishwamitra came in awe after seeing Raja Dasaratha being distracted by his vow after being afflicted with betrothal.

He said, "Rajan!  I did not know that the tradition of pledging in the Raghukul is over.

If I had known, I would never have come.  Here I go. "  At the end of the talk, his face turned red with anger.

On seeing Vishwamitra being angry in this way, the courtiers and ministers became frightened and they shivered at the thought of some kind of evil.

Guru Vashistha explained to the king, "O Rajan!  Do not taint Raghukul's dignity, pledge and integrity by falling in love with the son.

I advise you to forget that Ram is a child and send Ram with Muniraj without any fear.

Mahamuni is a very learned scholar, a master of ethics and a weapon.

Rama cannot be hurt in any way by going with Munivar, on the contrary, by staying with him, he will become highly skilled in weapons and scriptures and his welfare will be done. ”

Confident of the words of Guru Vashistha, King Dasaratha sent Rama.  Laxman also came there along with Rama.

King Dasaratha ordered Rama to go with sage Vishwamitra.

Laxman also prayed to the sage Vishwamitra to follow along with his father and after getting ready to go with Rama's sage and asked his father for permission to go with Rama.

After getting permission, Rama and Lakshman took blessings from all the gurus and went with sage Vishwamitra.

All Ayodhya residents saw that both brothers Rama and Lakshman looked as if both Ashwini Kumar was going behind Brahma ji with a bow on his shoulders and an arrow in the tarkus behind the Munishreshtha Vishwamitra while going slow.

The two brothers with amazing radiance were wearing gloves made of Goh's skin, bow in hands and sharp-edged sabers in the belt.

It seemed as if Shaurya himself was walking away wearing a body.

They reached the bank of the sacred Saryu river after crossing the six-Kos long route through the Lata Vitapas.

Muni Vishwamitra said in affectionate sweet voice, “O Watts!  Now you people take your bath by taking holy bath from the holy water of Saryu, then I will train you.

First I will teach you the teachings called Bal and Atibala. "  When Rama expressed curiosity about these disciplines, Rishi Vishwamitra said, "Both these disciplines are extraordinary.

The masters in these disciplines are counted among the best men in the world.

Scholars have described her as the mother of all disciplines.

By acquiring these knowledge you will overcome hunger and thirst.  Brahma ji himself has created these brilliant techniques.

I am giving you these, considering that I am entitled to receive these teachings. "

After Rama and Lakshmana retired from the bath, Vishwamitra started teaching them.

On receipt of these teachings, there was a wonderful revolution on his face.  The three rested on the Saryu coast.

After serving the Guru, the two brothers slept on the trinity.
